Ribble Valley Labour Lancashire County Council Candidates

Ribble Valley Labour Party Election Agent David Hinder has reflected on the recent Lancashire County Council elections,

“Despite challenging circumstances nationally, Labour managed to buck the trend by increasing its vote in all four Lancashire County Divisions within the Ribble Valley Borough while consolidating second place in three. The 36% increase in the Labour vote in Ribble Valley North East, which includes Whalley, was particularly encouraging.

The presence of Green Party candidates may have been a contributory factor to the 26% fall in the Liberal Democrat vote, with 1 in 4 of their supporters deserting the Party compared with the 2017 County Council elections.

The improved local Labour performance on a difficult day for the national Party provides a solid platform upon which Ribble Valley Labour Party can build as it looks towards the Borough Council elections in 2023.”
