A petition to save Clitheroe Interchange from closure is gathering pace, with more than 650 local residents signing it already. And the campaign, led by the local Labour Party, received a boost when “Jeremy Corbyn” turned up to support their efforts.

Local party chair Giles Bridge said “The interchange sells tickets and gives travel advice to people who may not have access to the internet or online booking. It is a valuable local service and also provides a gateway to our town.

“People are responding well to the petition as they are fed up of losing services to yet more Tory cuts.  “We have been holding street stalls to raise awareness of these cuts. And our ‘Jeremy Corbyn’ actor has been a fun way to promote the petition and the response from local people has been very positive,” Giles added.
